Hello,
I’m Joshua McBride, a Registered Social Worker (HBSW- RSW), Professional Certified Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYC-P), based in Ontario, Canada. I practice across both complementary yet distinct professional roles, each grounded in compassion, integrity, accessibility, and neurodivergent-affirming care.
---
As a Registered Social Worker (HBSW- RSW)
I provide therapeutic, person-centered support using evidence-based approaches that promote emotional wellness, resilience, and meaningful change. My work centers neurodivergent individuals, children, youth, and families, offering a safe, inclusive space to explore challenges, build skills, and strengthen self-understanding. My practice is guided by the OCSWSSW Code of Ethics and rooted in trauma-informed, strengths-based social work principles.
---
As a Professional Certified Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYC-P)
I support children, youth, and caregivers through developmentally appropriate, relational, and skills-focused interventions. My CYC-P practice emphasizes emotional regulation, coping strategies, behavior support, and family communication. Through virtual care, I collaborate with young people and families to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and navigate life’s complexities in a developmentally sensitive way.
---
Across all roles, I integrate both lived and professional experience as a neurodivergent practitioner. This allows me to meet people where they are, communicate with authenticity, and cultivate environments built on inclusion, respect, and understanding.
Whether I am providing therapeutic support, or child and youth care services, my purpose remains consistent:
to create meaningful, accessible, and empowering experiences that help people thrive.
